Tijuana Missions Trip
February 14th – 21st 2015
Spirit Midwest is headed back to Tijuana Mexico this coming February 14th for another week long trip. This year God has raised enough funds to allow us to build a home for Javier Gonzalez and his wife Elia. They have 5 kids ranging in age from 16 down to 3. Here is Elia’s testimony:
My name is Elia Gonzalez Cortez and I have 8 years with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Our family has suffered a lot in the past. My husband fell at work and hurt his back, my daughter Kimberly (when she was 6 years old) had a very bad case of hepatitis and was in between life and death, Javier has asthma, Stephonia had a problem with her stomach that almost needed an operation and Javier had surgery on his right eye. Receiving a house will be a great blessing for our family. I know that God will be very pleased and may he bless you and keep you.
This family of seven lives in a one room building. In addition, when the mission staff talked with the father, Javier, he shared that not too long ago he had tried to cross illegally into the U.S. to provide for his family but had been caught and returned to Mexico. When he found out that we would be building a house for his family, he felt God was telling him that he needed to stay in Mexico with his family and that God would provide their needs.
During this week long trip we will also be helping in orphanages, feeding kitchens, assisting with rehabs and hospices and feeding the homeless. Come back each day the week of the 14th through the 21st for updates.
